Kraft Drummer

I need to make sure I get this right:
Cover stamp with Versamark and then on top of that Vintage Photo Distress ink
then stamp onto card and cover image with clear embossing powder.

Tuesday, 18 July 2017

Shrunken Solider

The Drummer has been shrunk
Stamped onto white shrink plastic with black stazon and then coloured with some Brushables.
If you watch the first show where I shrunk him you will know that will probably end up in the bloopers.  It didn't go wrong but it was the way in which he shrunk which was funny.

He has been placed inside our Small Snowglobe stamp.

Red Sparkle Rodney

I love Rodney, he is my friend and although in this image he looks
possibly hungover, tired or poorly I still think he is fabulous.
I made this card by stamping Rodney in black and then cutting out the rectangle
I then placed the stamped layer over some red glitter paper - simples!

The banner is from our Short & Sweet Sentiments set and the words
are from our Glittermas stamp set.

White Christmas Tree

Vicky created this card using our Trim The Tree stamp set - designed by Lesley Crawford.
Merry Glittermas is from our Glittermas stamp set.

Both images are stamped and embossed in a white sparkle embossing powder.
Vicky then used glitter glues from the pink and purple baubles.

Topiary Trees

Made from our Christmas Twiddly Bits this looks decidedly unchristmas.
I stamped the Topiary onto 3 different colours of paper:
Pink Pearlescent
Purple Pearlescent
Kraft paper
I added white dots as detailed in the image.

Gilding Flakes Background

This is our Merry Christmas Tree rubber stamp.
Here it has been stamped in Stazon onto a JudiKins Laminating Sheet
(which is a sticky backed acetate, heat embossable).
After stamping, removing the backing to reveal the sticky side and then cover
with gilding flakes,
or glitter.

Flying through the skies

This is Pilot Rodney
Rodney is not just for Christmas, he is also great for Bon Voyage, Birthdays, Congratulations plus lots more.
The clouds are from our All Weathers stamp set.

Rodney has been stamped 3 times -
once onto the card,
once onto kraft card
once onto the patterned yellow card.
He has then been paper pieced together.

Me in a Colin McRae Rally Car

Vicky and I were invited on a VIP day yesterday and I got to take a spin in a Colin McRae rally car,
driven by an expert (not me).  Crash helmet, full harness - full speed with tight corners.
Some people got out and look a little queasy and considering we had just had an amazing lunch with chocolate dessert I was worried I would suffer.
But it was sooooo much find, I didn't even hold on

My husband has been rallying driving and we have talked about going together.
I definitely want to go now (you get bonus points if you can flip the car).

Scriptilicious Background

Did Vicky made this card on HOCHANDA TV?  I think she did.
She stamped several blooms and then masked them
and then stamped several more and then repeated the process
until the background was quite full.
Remember to leave some blank spaces.
The tag is the sentiment from Scriptilicious Blooms stamped
onto white shrink plastic, but into a tag shape, hole punched
and then shrunk.

Shrink Plastic Wreath 2

A slightly different version of my shrink plastic wreath.

Money Raised for East Anglian Air Ambulance

If you visited our shop last year you might have seen the Any Currency Any Age
box we had on the counter.
We were collecting discontinued currencies for the East Anglian Air Ambulance
although some people were adding their spare change, pound coins and even five pound notes.

We gave the box back to the Air Ambulance in October and have just received the final tally for the total of £126.07

Not bad considering a lot of it was melted down and sold for scrap metal.
Thank you to everyone that donated.

My Trip to Switzerland

You may or may not know that I was recently in Switerland - teaching in a craft store in Winterthur (near Zurich) Atelier Rageboge (Rainbow).

My friend Jacqueline owns the store and has an apartment in the mountains, so after several long days of teaching, on the Sunday afternoon, we drove (2ish hours) to the apartment.  The forecast at the store & home was for miserable weather but in the mountains sunshine was predicted so off we went with her husband Marcel and their dog Kira.

Now, I have never been skiing or snowboarding and I think I'm maybe a little too old (and unfit) to start now.  So Jacqueline suggested we sledge down the mountain.  Acutally she said sled but I looked it up and there is no difference between a sled and sledge so I am going with sledge.

But first we had to get up the mountain and the only way up is in a ski-lift.

So my first 1st of the day was travelling in a ski-lift.
It scooped us up and off we went, above are the photos to prove it.
Jacqueline made sure I put on sunscreen before we went outside (factor 30).  And I am so glad she did because when we got to the top of the ski-lift we sat in the sunshine for a while and I took off my coat sitting there in a t-shirt in the snow.  We felt so close to the sun.
You can see from this photo that we weren't quite at the top of the mountain.  There is another ski-lift that takes you up to the summit so you can ski down what looks like a vertical drop - no thank you!
After chatting to a snowboard instructor (apparently he offered us jobs as barmaids, we must have been laughing too much!) Jacqueline said let me take a photo of you with all the snow.
Step backwards she said - so I did.  This is was taken after I stepped forward out of the snow that went up to my knees.  Not a good idea.
See the red face - getting so close to the sun does that too me, it is what I like to call my healthy glow (often known as sunburn).

My second 1st of the day was sledging down a mountain.  We followed the path of the roads (which are closed to cars in ski season) down the mountain and WOW you can really pick up some speed.
You use your feet to steer and brake - not scary at all!!!!
Sometimes those roads have tight winding bends.
This photo is of Jacqueline on the last leg of the journey back down to the apartment.
See that wooden hut in the distance?  Right by there was some deep snow.
Did you know that a sledge stops dead in deep snow?
This would have been a perfect 'You've Been Framed' moment
I sledged down and hit that patch of deep snow,
my sledge stopped, but I did not.

I did not land on my face as most people assume I would,
no I landed on my bottom, so I continued as I would have on the sledge just without the sledge.
I landed in the soft snow and howled with laughter,
if only someone could have caught that on camera.

This is the panoramic view from the patio.
Where we sat drinking bubbly with blankets on our legs enjoying the sunshine.
The clouds are fascinating up here and so dramatic.
All this in one day.

The following day on the way back to Winterthur we stopped in a chocolate factory - yum yum.
